About the role
Our principle is simple: copy on a creative or a landing should read as written for that GEO, never as translated into it. ROIcamp has monetized dating on Tier-1/Tier-2 markets since 2011, and the gap between a literal translation and a living adaptation shows up as a conversion gap all the way down the funnel to rebill. An American, a German and a Pole flirt in different words — your job is to catch that difference inside short ad phrases. Languages you don’t speak are covered by native freelancers, and step by step you become the one managing them: writing briefs, checking output, holding deadlines. You report to the Creative Producer.
What you will do
- Localize creative copy for Tier-1/Tier-2 GEOs: short phrases, headlines, overlays — from English as the base.
- Adapt landings: not only the words but the tone, slang and cultural triggers of a specific market.
- Brief native freelancers: context, examples, expectations — then accept their work against a checklist.
- Proofread everything bound for production: a single landing mistake dents the trust of an entire GEO.
- Maintain a glossary and a bank of phrasings that have already proven their conversion per GEO.
- Compare copy variants by the numbers with buyers: which message lifted CVR and why.
What matters to us
Required:
- Written English B2+ — your everyday working language.
- A feel for short-form copy: show examples, study work counts too.
- Pedantic attention to detail: in this niche a typo costs money.
- Self-organization on remote: many small parallel tasks, each with a deadline.
Nice to have:
- A second European language: German, French, Spanish or Polish.
- Any translation or copywriting experience, in whatever format.
- Curiosity about marketing: why one headline gets clicked and another doesn’t.
What you get
- A skill no linguistics degree teaches: writing copy whose effect is measured in conversion.
- Management practice already at the junior level — coordinating native freelancers.
- Numbers on every copy variant you produce: CTR and CVR per GEO in the tracker.
- Fully remote work in a tight loop with designers, buyers and the analytics team.
- Real leverage on the team’s money: a winning adaptation gets scaled across the whole market.
Growth track
Two directions to choose from. First — deeper into localization: your own GEO expertise, a pool of natives under your management, the localization hub for the entire traffic team. Second — into performance copywriting: from adaptations to your own messages and creative hypotheses. In both cases the argument is the same — the conversion of your texts.
Compensation
$400–600 base at entry, reviewed against the measurable results of your localizations. Payouts on a fixed date, monthly.
Process
30-min screening → a compact test up to 90 minutes: adapting three messages for different GEOs → offer. Decision within 5 business days.
Questions about this role
Is this a translator job?
Broader. Translation is the base, but the job is adaptation: a message that works in the US may fail word-for-word in Germany or Brazil. You learn to rewrite for a GEO's culture, not translate words.
Which languages do I need?
Written English B2+ is required (the working language of creatives). A second European language (German, French, Spanish, Polish) is a strong plus and a faster growth path.
How do I know my localization worked?
By numbers: the tracker shows CTR and conversion of every variant per GEO. A localization that lifted conversion is your measurable result.
Who will I work with?
With designers (creative copy), buyers (GEO priorities) and tech (landing copy). You report to the Creative Producer.
Where can I grow?
Two tracks: deeper into localization (own GEO expertise, managing native freelancers) or into performance copywriting. Criteria — the conversion of your texts.
