About the role
We have been buying dating traffic since 2011, and for most of that time from Meta — where every launch starts with the question “will this account survive until tonight”. In-app is the source where that question does not exist: accounts on Unity Ads, AppLovin, Moloco and Mintegral do not get banned in waves, while the inventory is enormous and the auction rewards math rather than cloaking skills. Dating adds its own twist: optimization goes deeper than in gambling, so instead of stopping at FTD you walk each cohort down the full click → registration → subscription → rebill funnel and make money on repeat charges. You will be the first in-app buyer here — effectively writing the playbook for the source. You report to the Head of Media Buying, with the creative, farming and analytics teams next door.
What you will do
- Launch and run campaigns on Unity Ads, AppLovin, Moloco and Mintegral; pitch new SDK networks for testing with a rationale.
- Build bundle whitelists and blacklists: cut junk inventory before it eats the budget.
- Configure funnel events in AppsFlyer — from install down to subscription and rebill — and reconcile them with Keitaro.
- Optimize for repeat-paying cohorts, not for a cheap install or a one-off payment.
- Scale profitable campaigns across GEOs and sources with no budget ceiling.
- Brief the creative team on video, playable and rewarded formats — assets come back in 24–48 hours.
- Own unit economics with the analytics team: CPA, cohort LTV, payback by day.
- Defend your numbers to the Head once a week: what scales, what gets cut, and why.
What matters to us
Must have:
- 1.5+ years buying in-app/SDK traffic, with cases from the last 3–4 months you can walk through on real numbers.
- Confident with AppsFlyer or Adjust: events, attribution, cohort reports.
- A solid grasp of mobile formats — video, interstitial, rewarded, playable — and how each behaves in the auction.
- The habit of judging cohort ROI, not creative CTR.
Nice to have:
- Experience in dating or another subscription vertical.
- Moloco/Mintegral at the DSP-logic level, not just self-serve.
- An eye for playable creatives: you know which mechanics to test.
What you get
- A source without the ban cycle: your time goes into optimization, not account recovery.
- Test budgets from week one, allocated to your plan — no approval bureaucracy.
- Pioneer status: your campaigns become the playbook of the future in-app team.
- Creative, farming and analytics one chat away — no “figure it all out yourself”.
- Fully remote, in a team that has been running dating since 2011.
Growth track
Right now you are the only in-app buyer. After 6–12 months of steady profit a team forms around your campaigns — and you grow into the team lead of the vertical with a share of the whole branch’s profit.
Compensation
$1 000–2 500 base + 10–20% of profit on a progressive grid. The formula is open: Bonus = % × (revenue − spend − consumables). Payouts on a fixed date every month.
Process
30-min screening → a numbers-based walkthrough of your cases → final call with the Head of Media Buying → offer. The whole cycle takes up to 10 business days.
Questions about this role
Which sources will I run?
Unity Ads, AppLovin, Moloco, Mintegral and other in-app networks depending on GEO and product. Propose a new source with a rationale — we test it.
How does dating in-app differ from gambling?
Optimization goes deeper than FTD: we care about subscription and rebill, so we work with funnel events in AppsFlyer and optimize for repeat-paying cohorts.
What about test budgets?
Same as all buyers: allocated from week one per your test plan; profitable campaigns scale with no ceiling.
Who makes the creatives?
The creative team, from your brief: video, playable adaptations, statics. Hypothesis → creative in 24–48h.
